====== G-Tech ====== **G-Tech Systems** was an anti-gravity racing team based in Japan. They only appeared in Wipeout Fusion. As the mid-2150s approached, the build quality for the [[teams:ag_systems|AG Systems]] race team, known for testing its experimental technology rather than chasing race victories, was deteriorating and competitiveness declining. Looking to cut their losses, AG Systems sought to sell its race team assets to return a profit enough to keep the parent company afloat. Prior to any involvement in the sport, G-Tech was a large Japanese trading conglomerate focused on developing a wide range of anti-gravity consumer products such as food-grade household gadgets, children's toys, hovering lawnmowers and commuter vehicles. Their first foray into AG racing was negotiating a trade deal with AG Systems to acquire its race team in 2155. According to highly-popular AG Race broadcast program Equal and Opposite, "G-Tech came along and sucked AG [Systems] like it was a coconut. Drank all the milk and threw the husk away. Damn shame." The newly dubbed G-Tech Systems then entered the inaugural season of the F9000 League the following year. From its very beginnings, it seemed like G-Tech was poorly prepared to compete. For one thing, the racing division was largely used as a marketing platform for their products, and this was even displayed in their vehicle of choice since they brought in a modified version of their mass-market commuter-grade REVVER. And in a complete flip to their predecessor, the ship was designed with modularity and reliability in mind in engine, weapon and shield systems, but demonstrated poor acceleration. The company's Chief Executive often commented that throwing enough money at all their problems would eventually work, but despite this the team Director of Operations seemed largely sceptical of delivering immediate results without great personal cost to himself and the engineering teams. This kind of team management left a sour taste in many fans mouths, as within less than 4 years after taking the reins, G-Tech soon came to represent the polar opposite of everything AG Systems stood for. Though the ship's reliability and widely available service parts did manage to put them in mid-tier standings, G-Tech's chapter in AG racing was brief, as the F9000 League collapsed only 14 years later. The re-emergence of an entirely rebuilt new independent AG Systems race team from the ground up for the FX300 suggests that as soon as AG racing ceased to be a source of revenue in 2170, G-Tech abandoned their race team and any hint of future plans to compete as quickly as acquired it.
