EG-X Technologies is an AG racing team with twinned-headquarters in Finland and China. They were introduced in Wipeout Pulse.
EG-X emerged from the 2172 merger of two former F9000 League titans, prior to its collapse: China's EG-R Technologies, with a reputation for secrecy, technical rigor, and uncompromising control over proprietary data, but well-known globally for its development and trading of cybernetic technology; and Finland's Xios International, deeply engaged in aeronautical engineering, and sporting a flamboyant public persona while flaunting its championship pedigree. The resulting fusion created a team that was formidable from the outset, entering the FX350 alongside fellow newcomers Mirage, and immediately securing high placements without prior experience in the FX300.
They are considered to be a dark-horse contender, given their joint-history. Even in the FX400, EG-X continues to operate with minimal public disclosure, withholding pre-season telemetry and technical specifications. But what does make its way into public knowledge through official team statements is a technological philosophy centred on advanced aerodynamics and cybernetics, with boasts of a neural interface that links man with machine for direct ship control at the speed of thought, and a commitment to armour and force-shield profiling that offers minimal drag. The result of their efforts is a team which delivers reasonably fast ships with quick acceleration, while slightly sacrificing on agility and durability compared to their competitive rivals.
This ship can launch faster than most other ships, and maintain acceleration around even tight corners, though its agility is somewhat lacking.
Improvements to chassis design bring some much needed agility and allow for higher speeds, improving cornering ability.
